What’s special about this guitar: This is a beautiful sounding vintage Hummingbird with a great vintage vibe and fantastic playability! The binding and areas of the body have developed a nice patina giving the instrument a beautiful vintage look. The wood grain in the top has some gorgeous natural variegation that has a 3-dimensional appearance when held in the light. With the exception of a reinforcing maple overlay on the bridge plate and an added strap button on the neck heel, the guitar is all original and plays great!
Condition: This guitar is in very good shape for its age! There are various scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips and consistent weather checking throughout the guitar with some buckle rash on the back. Ultimately, it gives the guitar a great vintage look! The top is showing some bellying behind the bridge, but the bridge is holding together fine and there are no loose or broken braces. There are a few tiny cracks in the bridge but nothing that affects playability or sound. Areas of the finish on the body and neck have worn through to the bare wood; mostly from normal play wear. The pickguard has shrunk a bit, but is still in great shape. The frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. The neck is nice and straight with very comfortable action and the truss rod functions perfectly. Aside form the reinforced bridge plate and strap button on the neck heel, the guitar is all original!
Body: Double-bound body with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides in natural finish. Rosewood bridge with a height-adjustable rosewood saddle. Tortoise pickguard with floral design and multi-ring rosette.
Neck: Nicely rounded, slender mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid, split parallelogram inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Kluson Delux tuners with ivoroid buttons, 25 ¼” scale length.
Weight: 4lbs, 7.2oz.
Case: Includes the original hardshell case. Some of the covering is torn and the handle is taped, otherwise the case is in good working condition!
