Description
What makes this guitar special: In the late '60s Gibson introduced this square shoulder version of the J-50. It's every bit as warm & rich sounding as the more familiar slope shoulder & displays all the classic hallmarks of the iconic J-50. Professionally set up & ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The tuning buttons are a bit loose & will most likely need to be changed at some point. Overall the guitar has an ultra cool, true vintage look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, wide profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in good working condition. As previously mentioned, the buttons are a bit loose but still function. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid spruce top with 3-ply binding. Rosewood bridge & adjustable saddle. Black pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Mahogany back & sides with single-ply binding. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 15.6 oz.
Case: Vintage hardshell case included.
