Description
What makes this guitar special: A marvelous player with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe. This mid '70s beauty sports a flashy sunburst finish with a really vibrant red tone in the middle. Light-weight & incredibly resonant, she's ready for action straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of good honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are a couple of cigarette burns in the headstock, but this only adds to the guitar's vintage charm. Luckily there is no nicotine odor. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, slender profile maple neck with "skunk" stripe & black dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. The frets are quite small & typical of the period. This is something for modern players who prefer bigger frets to keep in mind. In other words, because of the smallness of the frets, the action & playability of the guitar is much different than a more modern Strat. Large headstock with bullet truss rod & double string trees. F tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck dates to '75.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body in 3-tone sunburst finish with 3-ply white pickguard. String-thru bridge with six adjustable saddles. The low E saddle is unoriginal. Guitar weighs a delightful 7 lbs 1.3 oz.
Electronics: Three single coil Strat pickups. The neck pickup is an original grey bottom & dates to '75 - 5.64K ohms. The middle is unoriginal & appears to be a more modern Seymour Duncan - 15.16K ohms. The bridge is also a period-correct grey bottom but does not have a date stamp - 5.76K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with 5-way selector switch. Pots date to '74 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
