What makes this guitar special: Completely original, and in great condition! This Tele Custom has aged very nicely, and sports a very cool look in addition to the iconic sounds it produces. The natural finish showcases the solid ash body beautifully, with just enough finish checking to showcase its age. The rounded neck profile is wildly comfortable, and will have you playing for hours. Professionally set up by Cream City Music-so it sounds amazing!
Cosmetic condition: Very good condition, with all the right wear for a 40-year old guitar. There are various mild scratches, scuffs, nicks, and dings throughout the instrument, as well as some minor buckle rash on the back of the body and expected finish checking. There are a few scuffs on the top of the headstock, as well as some mild oxidation on the hardware. The fingerboard shows some typical signs of playwear, with a few light scratches and nicks.
Body: Single-cutaway ash body in natural finish with 3-ply black pickguard. Pickguard is in great shape with no cracking, but does show some signs of pickwear. String-through bridge with 3 adjustable barrel saddles.
Weight: 8lb, 11oz
Neck: Solid maple neck with black side dots and black dot inlays. Bullet truss rod (in perfect working order) and double string trees. Headstock decals are in great shape, with some minor finish chipping under the “Custom” decal. 1 5/8” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Original F logo tuners are in great shape and function as they should. Neck dates to the 47th week of ’75.
Electronics: Original Fender single coil bridge pickup (6.35K ohms) and WideRange neck humbucker (10.67K ohms). Dual volume and tone controls with black ‘witch hat’ knobs and 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to ’75, and all electronics are in perfect working order.
Playability/Tone: The neck is soft and comfortable, and plays beautifully up and down the fretboard. The combination of the WideRange humbucker and bridge single coil create a variety of classic tonal possibilities, with incredible versatility that is suitable for any genre.
