Description

What makes this guitar special: One of only 300 made between ’79-’80, the ES-335 CRR features a pair of double cream T-Top humbuckers, a built in coil tap, and a TP-6 tailpiece. The neck carve on this piece is excellent, a comfortable D shape that thickens as you near the upper register, resting very nicely in hand. This guitar has a fantastic vibe, with just the right amount of wear-it’s been well-played and well-loved. Professionally setup and inspected by our expert in-house luthier, it will arrive ready to play.

Cosmetic condition: A good honest player with a great vibe-there are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with notable finish wear on the back of the neck and visible finish checking throughout. The frets show wear consistent with age, but still have life in them. The hardware shows visible tarnishing, and the top shows some chipping and cracking in the finish around the bass side f-hole. The neck has a slight twist to it, resulting in some very minimal fret buzz on the low-E string. This could be remedied with extensive fret filing, however, being that the frets are original and playability is so excellent as-is, that we’ve decided to leave that decision for the new owner. Overall, this piece has a phenomenal vibe to it, with a gorgeous patina.

Body: Double-bound semi-hollow maple body in sunburst finish with dual f-holes. Tune-O-Matic bridge and TP-6 stopbar tailpiece. The original pickguard is missing and not included.

Weight: 8 lb, 9.3 oz

Neck: D-shaped 3-piece maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, black side dots, and pearl block inlays. Black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo & crown. Grover tuners work great. Brass nut measures 1 11/16”. 24 3/4" scale length. Rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape, and while frets show wear, they still have plenty of life left. Neck has a slight twist to it, resulting in some light fret buzz on the low-E string. Truss rod is functional.

Electronics: Double Cream T-Top humbuckers (Neck-15.19k ohms, Bridge-14.68k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch, 2-way coil tap switch, and gold speed knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume. All electronics have been tested and are fully functional.

Case: Original hard shell case included.
