Description

What makes this guitar special: An increasingly rare find, this Ripper is in awesome shape for its age. Finished in the ever desirable ebony finish with matching ebony board, it’s been used, but certainly not abused. Designed by Bill Lawrence, these had their heyday in the late ‘70s, and have steadily accrued a cult following since their discontinuance in 1983. Featuring a set of Super Humbucking pickups and a 4-way switch for optional series or parallel output, this thing is designed for versatility. Professionally setup by the experts at Cream City Music, this one will arrive ready to play right out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: Used but not abused, with some standard wear and tear throughout. Various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs throughout, with some light finish checking in a few areas. The D-string tuner is unoriginal, and there are holes drilled beneath it from a tuner that was previously retrofitted.

Body: Solid double cutaway maple body in black finish with 5-ply black pickguard and covered 4-saddle diecast bridge.

Weight: 10 lb, 4 oz

Neck: Medium profile D-shaped maple neck with white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Ebony fingerboard is in marvelous shape, and frets show little wear, with a ton of life left in them. 1 5/8” nut width, 34” scale length. 3 original Gibson open-gear tuners and one replacement Schaller open-gear tuner. Black headstock overlay with gold Gibson logo. Neck is straight and plays beautifully up and down the length of the fingerboard.

Electronics: Dual Super Humbucking pickups with 4-way chickenhead rotary selector switch and black speed knobs, 2x volume, 1x tone. Pots date to ’77 and all electronics are in full working order.

Case: Original hard shell case included.
