Description
What makes this guitar special: 100% original with a cool, true vintage vibe, but what really makes this Strat special is the very rare & unique Antigua finish, which has aged marvelously over the decades. Combined with the black knobs & pickup covers, the guitar has a bad ass look & a tone to match. Delivered to your home with a pro set up courtesy of the experts at Cream City Music.
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear through & through, just the way we like 'em - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking, finish wear & variegation throughout the finish due to age. There's a bit of a light "texture" in a portion of the finish in the back of the body, most likely due to a chemical reaction to something. Overall the guitar has a great vibe, cool look & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, semi-chunky maple neck with maple fingerboard & black dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with practically no wear. Large headstock with bullet truss rod & double string trees. F-stamp tuners are in good working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. The neck is straight, but the truss is as loose as it can go, so no string gauge lighter than .10s is recommended. The serial number on the headstock matches the label in the neck pocket, but the end of the neck actually dates to 1980.
Body: Contoured, solid body in Antigua finish. Tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles & original trem arm. 4-ply Antigua pickguard shows some play wear, but no cracks. Guitar weighs 10 lbs 1.4 oz.
Electronics: Original grey bottom single coils all date to '79. Bridge - 7.36K ohms; Middle - 5.71K ohms; Neck - 5.66K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with black skirted knobs; 5-way selector switch. All electronics are original & in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
