Description
What makes this guitar special: A very early G&L, with fantastic playability and a broad array of onboard sounds. This one was obviously an early custom order, built with L-2000 specifications, but with a fretless neck branded L-1000. Originally finished in a cherry red, but stripped down to reveal the nicely figured solid ash body. Professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthiers, and ready to play out of the case!
Cosmetic condition: Awesome playing condition, with some good honest wear. The finish has been stripped off the entire body, though there are remnants of the cherry finish around the pickups and in the neck pocket. Beyond that, there are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs present, with visible tarnishing on the hardware.
Body: Double cutaway solid ash body in stripped natural finish with top-loading 4-saddle bridge.
Weight: 11 lb, 7 oz
Neck: Slim rounded solid maple neck with walnut skunk stripe and black side dots. Fretless rosewood fingerboard is in awesome shape. 1 11/16” nut width, 34” scale length. G&L L-1000 headstock logo. Schaller open gear tuners work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is functional.
Electronics: Dual humbucking pickups with 3-way pickup selector switch, series/parallel toggle, and active/passive toggle. Chrome control knobs, 1x master volume, 1x bass, 1x treble. Pots date to ’81 and all electronics are fully functional.
Case: Unoriginal hard shell case included. Case is in rough shape and a few of the latches are broken, but it still does the job.
