Description

The perfect marriage of two Fender basses - a Jazz Bass neck & a P-Bass body - both from 1965. Many players prefer the more slender feel of a Jazz neck, but also desire the warm, rich tone of a P-Bass, so here's the perfect solution. The original body finish is Olympic White, which can still be detected underneath the Sherwood Green "overfinish". In other words if someone were ambitious enough, the green finish could be removed to show off the original Olympic White underneath it. As a matter of fact the neck pocket still retains the original white paint stick.

Cosmetic Condition: Ultra cool, vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the bass has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.

Neck: Slender profile maple neck with beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Headstock decals are in great shape & the original nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. The neck is all original & has not been refinished or oversprayed. It is straight & the truss rod functions fine. 1 1/2" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck stamp reads 7 AUG 65 A.

Body: Contoured, solid alder body. The original Olympic White finish is still under the Sherwood Green finish. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable saddles & original bridge cover. 4-ply tortoise pickguard is in great shape with no cracks, but has shrunk a tiny bit. Bass weighs 8 lbs 14 oz. - a really nice weight!

Electronics: Original P-Bass split single coils with original cover - 10.72K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs. Both pots date to '65 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case included. The case shows some wear & tear, but is solid & serves its purpose well.
