Description
A vintage 1963 Fender Showman 115 piggyback amp in very nice condition. This is a rare transitional model, combining Brownface-era blonde tolex with a Blackface chassis. The circuit is the uber-rare AA763--installed on only the earliest Blackface models. This amp is almost entirely original, and features not only the original JBL D130 but also the, hard-to-find, original speaker cord and footswitch.
Sound-wise, the amp is Blackface at its best--with warm cleans that jump out of the super-sensitive JBL speaker. As you move up the volume knob, and aggressive Blackface growl sets in. Just serviced with new F&T filter caps and a fresh set of JJ 6L6s, this amp will be at home in any studio or amp collection. It has been cleaned and tested. It is fully functional and sounds fantastic.
