Description
A super cool, true vintage Tele Custom in classic '70s Walnut finish, sometimes referred to as Mocha. The previous owner swapped out the original tuners for Schallers, but now newer F-tuners are back on the guitar, and of course the brass jack plate is unoriginal. Professionally refretted with bigger frets & the pickups were professionally rewound by PRS. Despite all that, the guitar is light weight & exceptionally resonant. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear with a wonderful vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with black dot inlays. Professionally refretted with bigger frets, all in great shape with no wear. Bullet truss rod with with double string trees. Newer, period-correct looking F-tuners. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck dates to '73.
Body: Solid alder body in Walnut finish. The sides are a much darker brown than the top & back. String-thru bridge with three adjustable saddles. 3-ply large black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Unoriginal brass jack plate. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 3.3 oz.
Electronics: Original Fender Wide Range neck humbucker dates to '73 - 10.49K ohms. Original Fender single coil bridge pickup - 6.76K ohms. Both pickups were professionally rewound by PRS. All four pots are unoriginal & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
