Description

What’s special about this guitar: This is a great playing 69 SG Junior with an awesome vintage look and feel! There have been a few modifications to the guitar including new bridge, tuners and pickup. The mods actually add some nice tonal versatility to the guitar but could also easily be changed. The guitar itself is in very good overall shape with some typical signs of play wear and a great vintage vibe. The deep beveled edges on the body give it the right look, the neck is exceptionally comfortable and the cherry finish is beautiful!

Condition: Very good overall. There are scratches, nicks, dings, dents, a few small chips and some weather checking throughout the guitar with some buckle rash on the back. There are some areas of finish along the edges that have worn down to the bare wood. There are a few extra screw holes along the back cover plate and pickguard. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear with some heavier wear towards the lower registers. The neck is super comfortable with great action and the truss rod functions perfectly. The bridge, tuners, control knobs and pickup are unoriginal. Marks from the original tuners are visible. The output jack is also unoriginal and a mini toggle was added. The pots are both vintage. One dates to 1968, the other is illegible but likely from the same year. Some foil was added to the cavities to act as shielding.

Body: Solid mahogany body in cherry finish. Wrap-around tailpiece with six individual saddles, dual skirted control knobs with silver inserts, mini toggle and a 3-ply black pickguard. Base from the tailpiece is still intact but the original tailpiece is missing.

Neck: Super comfortable and nicely rounded mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 1 9/16” nut. Schaller tuners, 24 ¾” scale length.

Pickups/Electronics: Seymour Duncan DCJ humbucker in the bridge with master volume and tone controls and a mini toggle switch for coil splitting.

Humbucker: 6.89K Ohms.

Weight: 6lbs, 8.5oz.

Case: Includes an unoriginal hardshell case.
