Description
A truly marvelous early '70s Dove that sounds as beautiful as it looks. The neck shows off some absolutely stunning flame maple figuring & there are hints of it in the body as well. The guitar produces a rich, powerful tone that projects quite loudly & thanks to a pro set up from the experts here at Cream City Music, it plays exceptionally well. Don't miss out on a great opportunity to own one of Gibson's most sought after dreadnoughts.
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. A couple of the pickguard corners are popping up a bit, but not too bad & for the most part the guard is securely attached to the guitar, as is the bridge. Overall the guitar looks really great, with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: 3-piece maple neck with lots of flame figuring. Nicely aged cream binding with tortoise side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Original frets show a bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Gibson diecast tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought with solid spruce top & 7-ply binding. Rosewood bridge & adjustable saddle with mother of pearl Dove inlays. Tortoise pickguard with Dove motif & multi-ring rosette. Maple sides & back with 5-ply binding along with colorful center strip. There are no electronics added & the guitar weighs 5 lbs 8.4 oz.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
