Description
A smooth, comfortable player with a warm, rich tone & gorgeous acoustic resonance. The placement of the P-90 in the middle of the body where a natural harmonic occurs allows the guitar to produce some interesting overtones at times. Professionally set up & inspected by the experts at Cream City Music, so it plays & sounds marvelous.
Cosmetic Condition: Really wonderful condition for being just over 60 years old.
Various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There was some minor cracking around the input jack so an aftermarket jackplate was added to protect the side better. Overall the guitar has an ultra cool, true vintage vibe to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: 1-piece, chunky mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets are in great shape with very little wear & tons of life in them. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition, although the buttons are replacements. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound, hollow maple body with dual F-holes & Florentine cutaway.
The top shows off some pretty flame figuring underneath the sunburst finish. Long trapeze tailpiece & wrap-around bridge with nickel hardware. 5-ply black pickguard shows the typical curving, but no cracks. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 10.2 oz.
Electronics: 1 P-90 single coil pickup with black "dog ear" cover - 9.04K ohms - powerful output! Master volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Later-period Gibson hardshell case included.
