Description
A true vintage Hummingbird with a super cool, authentic look & vibe. A superb player with a broad, powerful voice that belts out its tone like a cannon! One of the ultimate square shoulder dreadnoughts ever produced by Gibson & a consummate favorite of some of the most recognizable musicians in the world - from rock to country, the Hummingbird has been their go-to guitar. Make this one yours!
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear with an authentic vintage vibe - just the way we like 'em. This beauty has a killer sound, so naturally it was played - and it shows: various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Personally I think she's gorgeous & shows off a beautiful patina.
Neck: Mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original Grover Rotomatic tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut (yes, the wider neck); 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Square Shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid spruce top with 7-ply binding. Unoriginal rosewood bridge with cream end pins & bone saddle. The original bridge would have been the ADJ style. Original plexi pickguard with Hummingbird motif. The guard is lifting up just ever so slightly near the soundhole, but it's not too bad. Mahogany sides & back with 5-ply binding & multi-colored center strip. There's some absolutely gorgeous figuring throughout the mahogany with some exceptional variegation in the wood. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 5 lbs 5.1 oz.
Case: Period-correct hardshell case included.
