Description
An 80-year old beauty with an ultra cool true vintage vibe. Constructed of all solid wood, this gorgeous L-4 feels & sounds absolutely amazing - a big neck with big tone - very loud & the sound projects exceptionally well! Professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so she's ready to play straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Typical play wear for a guitar of this age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear/blemishes throughout. There's a minor top crack & minor back crack, both on the bass side. They're not too bad actually & don't appear to be going anywhere. The back binding has shrunk a bit in a few areas, which shows some mild separation from the sides. We've seen this before on similar models & although it's not necessarily typical, it can happen from time to time. However, the separation appears to have happened quite some time ago & is most likely not going to continue or be an issues. Overall, the guitar has a cool, well-played true vintage look to it with a really nice patina.
Neck: Beefy V-shaped mahogany neck with cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl inlays. The first eight frets were re-fretted & all frets show hardly any wear. Unoriginal open-back tuners with cream buttons in good working condition. 1 3/4" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.
Body: Solid spruce top with dual F-holes. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with compensated rosewood bridge & unoriginal tortoise pickguard. Solid figured maple back & sides. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 10.7 oz.
Case: Vintage hardshell case included. The case is a bit rough, but is solid & serves its purpose well.
