Description
100% original and in marvelous condition for its age - very clean and practically a museum piece! Featuring a slender profile neck and loaded with a pair of muscular sounding humbuckers that deliver rich, mighty tones! Professionally inspected and set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready to rock upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: We've seen newer guitars in worse shape than this one. What a beauty! It's hard to believe it was made in 1977! Very clean with only mild wear - various minor nicks and dings (mostly on the back of the neck and body); light surface scratches and mild tarnish on the hardware. Overall the guitar looks amazing and sounds even better!
Neck: Slender profile, 3-piece maple neck with mellow aged white binding and black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Small frets are in great shape with practically no wear. Bound headstock with mother of pearl double-diamond inlays. Gibson tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight and truss rod works fine.
Body: Solid mahogany body with maple top and multi-layer binding. Stopbar tailpiece and Tune-O-Matic bridge with gold hardware. 5-ply black pickguard and single-ply black jackplate. The jackplate has a few small cracks in the corners and a very tiny piece missing. Guitar weighs 10.35 lbs - yep she's a hefty gal, but delivers the goods!
Electronics: Gibson Pat No. humbuckers with black bezels and gold covers. Bridge - 7.64K ohms; Neck - 7.58K ohms. Dual volume and tone controls with black "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All pots date to '77 and all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included - also in great shape!
