Description
An absolutely stunning dreadnought with a powerful, robust voice capable of delivering warm, rich tones coupled with ravishing dynamics. For years Guilds have played second fiddle to Martin & Gibson for no good reason. They are every bit as magnificent & easily compete with the two giants. This fabulous D-55 is of course no exception. A rare model featuring gorgeous appointments like the mother of pearl & abalone block inlays & multiple binding throughout. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready to perform upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for quickly approaching 30, showing signs of mild play wear - some tarnish on the gold hardware; various minor nicks & dings; surface scratches & light weather checking; light finish chipping or chattering in various places along the neck & body binding, but all purely cosmetic & not very significant. All in all the guitar looks wonderful & has a great vibe to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Mahogany neck with multi-layer binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of peal & abalone block inlays. Frets show only a tiny bit of wear & are in great shape overall. Bound headstock with mother of pearl Guild & G logo inlays. Gold Grover Rotomatic tuners are in perfect working condition. 1.75" nut width; 25.5" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought with multi-layer top & back binding. Solid spruce top with ebony bridge. Cream bridge pins with abalone dot inlays. Tortoise pickguard with multi-layer rosette. Solid Indian rosewood back & sides with geometric center strip. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 5 lbs 13.6 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
