Description
A lovely Tenor model that's in wonderful condition for its age. This charming OOO-18T was just recently acquired from a private collection of nearly 40 rare & vintage Martin guitars, including tenors as well as mandolins, ukes & banjos. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music.
Cosmetic Condition: Remarkable condition considering it's approaching 90 years old! There are three professionally repaired back cracks. One is more or less in the center & the other two are on either sides of the lower bout. The center crack was glued & cleated, but the other two were only glued. All three are stable & look clean. The body was oversprayed after the repair. The rest of the guitar is in great shape for the most part with signs of only mild play wear - various tiny nicks, dents & dings along with surface scratches. Overall the guitar looks great & is a real joy to play!
Neck: Mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. Grover Pat. tuners with ivoroid buttons. 1 1/4" nut width; 23 1/8" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well up & down the fretboard.
Body: OOO-size body with tortoise binding on the top & back. Solid spruce top with original pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Ebony bridge with black end-pins. Solid mahogany back & sides. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 3 lbs 3.8 oz.
Case: Modern TKL hardshell case included.
