Description
This late '70s Model E-72 made by Penco is a Japanese "lawsuit" guitar based on the Howard Roberts model produced by Gibson during the same time period, with more or less all the same hallmark features - Florentine cutaway with oval soundhole & floating neck humbucker. An exceptionally well-made copy at a much more affordable price than the Gibson original. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall - very clean with some mild surface scratches.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Bound headstock with abalone floral inlay. Diecast tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight, but truss rod is pretty much maxed out.
Body: Hollow maple body with Florentine cutaway. 7-ply top & back binding with 7-ply bound oval soundhole. Trapeze tailpiece with floating ebony bridge. Tortoise pickguard with 5-ply binding. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 7.3 oz.
Electronics: Floating neck humbucker. Master volume & dual tone controls with black speed knobs. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
