Description
What makes this guitar special: A sweet little solid body with wonderful, true vintage charm. The Cresting Wave design has become synonymous with players like Tom Petty & Mike Campbell, and the pair of "toaster top" single coils guarantees that glorious, true Ric tone! Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds great!
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear with a cool vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some mild finish wear. There are three unoriginal screw holes in the top of the guitar just below the bridge & two extra holes in the bridge plate itself. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & red side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl "shark tooth" inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 25" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rods work fine.
Body: Neck-thru design with solid maple wings & top binding. Top-loading bridge with adjustable saddles & original bridge cover included. The two lower string saddles are missing their washers. Single-ply white pickguard (also with the aforementioned three screw holes), however, an additional pickguard without those holes is also included. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 14.9 oz.
Electronics: Original "toaster top" single coils with 3-way toggle switch. Dual volume & tone controls with blend knob. Pots date to '61 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
