Department: Guitar Setup / Repair Technician

Cream City Music is searching for a talented individual to join our guitar repair department. We’re seeking motivated, passionate, and thoughtful people who can continue our tradition of exceptional customer service, high quality setup work, and help us grow our business. This position will give you a chance to work directly with used and vintage music gear, while working collaboratively with other people who live for guitars, basses, amps, effects, making music, and retail sales.
The newest opening here at our shop is focused on tech work and product photography of all the fretted instruments that come into our shop. You will have the opportunity to learn about the exciting history of vintage guitars and basses with hands on experience handling and working on these iconic instruments. We seek people who are skilled and quick at setups and general guitar maintenance - experience doing structural repairs, including fret work, bridge re-glues, crack repairs, and neck resets are a plus but not required for this position. You will be tasked with the responsibility of performing pre-sale setup & repair work to ready the instrument for our showroom in addition to taking photos of that item for our website. You will also be the final touchpoint for our customers as you set up and inspect every instrument that we ship out to our customers all across the world.

•A minimum of 1 years experience in a retail environment with point-of-sale systems as well as experience with various online sales outlets such as Ebay, Amazon, and Reverb
•A candidate who is an experienced musician with a passion for gear is preferred
•A desire to learn about vintage guitars and basses
•MI Retail experience is preferred
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•PC Proficient with ability to learn quickly
•Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
•Self-motivated with excellent problem solving skills
•A positive and upbeat attitude and and a proactive mindset
•Willingness to learn product photography skills
•Availability to work occasional weekends
•Experience in the following preferred but not required:
AIMsi, Photoshop, eBay Selling Manager Pro, ShipStation, Using a DSLR camera
•Performing basic cleaning, restring, and setup adjustment of fretted instruments
•Identify and troubleshoot issues with fretted instruments pre-sale and post-sale.
•Work with the shipping department to prioritize outgoing instrument setups
•Keep a detailed log of your setup work and manage quality control checklists on each instrument you work on.
•Interact with customers from our retail showroom and online presence to manage specific setup requests
•Photographing fretted musical instruments and editing those images for our online presence
•Provide support for in-house operations across multiple departments
•Be willing to do anything necessary to help our small business be successful
