Cream City Music is searching for talented people to join our growing business. We’re seeking motivated, passionate, friendly, and energetic individuals who can continue our tradition of exceptional customer service and a love of helping people find the tools they need to unlock their creative potential.

The newest opening here at our shop is a full-time position on our Sales Team.

This position will give you a chance to work directly with new, used, and vintage music gear, while working collaboratively with other people who live for guitars, basses, amps, effects, making music, and retail sales.

This is a high-intensity role that matches well with people who thrive on teamwork, aspire to be leaders, have a desire to serve, and take pride in a job well done. A position on our Sales Team offers long-term career potential and excellent compensation for top performers.

You will be tasked with the responsibility of working directly with our customers on our online marketplaces, by phone, and in our gorgeous retail showroom. This is a relationship-based position and you'll have the joy of forming friendships with fellow musicians, learning about their needs on their musical journey, and getting them set up with the gear they need. This position will also require you to build and maintain a customer database supplied by our online channel and perform proactive customer outreach on a daily basis to grow and strengthen those friendships.


Requirements:

•A desire to learn about guitars, basses, amps, and effects

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Ownership and accountability in all aspects of the position

•Organizational and time-management skills are a must for success

•Availability to work on a Saturday or Sunday is a key requirement for this position

•PC Proficient with ability to learn quickly

•Confidence in building and maintaining customer relationships

•Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

•Self-motivated with excellent critical thinking skills

•A positive and upbeat attitude and and a proactive mindset

•A candidate who is a musician with a passion for gear is preferred

•Experience in the following preferred but not required:

Retail Sales, Retail Merchandising, Customer Service, Phone Sales, Buying & Selling on Reverb, eBay, and Amazon


Responsibilities:

•Work with customers to find the tools they need to unlock their creative potential

•Quickly field and respond to all incoming customer inquires in our showroom and online via email, phone, website chat, and online marketplaces

 •Perform daily maintenance activities such as polishing and tuning guitars, showroom cleaning, re-stocking, merchandising displays, or any other help needed as dictated by the Sales Manager. 

•Embody company standards of customer service excellence, sales technique, and follow through with all customers

•Engage in regular outbound customer outreach by phone on a daily basis from call lists generated from sales channels 

•Evaluate and purchase used gear from customers in the retail showroom

•Take on and grow in a leadership role when the Sales Manager is not present within the store 

•Act as first point of contact for customers with instrument repair needs and work with Master Luthier to provide clear and accurate pricing and lead times for repair completion 

• Achieve consistent monthly sales revenue goals

•Be willing to go the extra mile to help our small business be successful
