Description
What makes this guitar special: An early Custom Shop piece made in Nashville, back in the days of extreme quality control and very low numbered production runs. This gorgeous 335 has all the heart and soul of its vintage counterparts; masterfully aged to recreate the look, feel, and sound of an early ‘60s model. It sports one of the most dazzling flamed maple bodies we’ve ever seen, finished in a stunning cherry finish that highlights a delicate fade in color and a smattering of lovely orange highlights. It has a hyper-comfortable neck profile, somewhere between a medium and slim, and comes in at a terrific weight too-making this one perfect for long nights of playing. Beyond the phenomenal flame and the stellar neck profile, you’ve got the deluxe appointments-nickel hardware and pickup covers, a set of killer ’57 classic humbuckers, aged binding, and a pre-’61 style long pickguard. With a professional setup from Cream City Music included, all you’ll have to do is tune it.
Cosmetic condition: Fantastic shape for its age-some light surface scratches and marks from handling, along with some pickwear on the guard, some light scuffing on the headstock and one pin sized chip in the finish on the headstock overlay.
Body: Beauitfully variegated semi-hollow maple body with dual f-holes. Aged binding, black pickup bezels, and four-ply black pickguard. Nickel stopbar tailpiece and ABR-1 bridge.
Weight: 8 lb, 6.7 oz
Neck: Medium profile D-shaped mahogany neck (Thickness measures .79” at the first fret, .88” at the 12th) with double bound rosewood fingerboard, black side dots and pearl dot inlays. Black headstock overlay with pearl inlaid Gibson logo and crown. Gibson Deluxe nickel tuners with pearl buttons work great. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Frets show no wear. Neck is straight and truss rod works as it should.
Electronics: Dual ’57 Classic humbuckers (Bridge-11.79k ohms, Neck-7.91k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and black tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume.
