Description

What makes this guitar special: A later model 135, nicely adorned with an eye-catching blue burst finish and sporting a pair of full-bodied humbuckers. This guitar is an absolute joy to play, with a super comfortable medium profile neck and smooth rosewood fingerboard. In terms of comparison to the 335, the body is slightly deeper, allowing increased resonance, but not so deep as to cause feedback problems. The body is also narrower, meaning this guitars sits perfectly in your lap, and has all the finesse and versatility of a 335, without the awkward bout width.

A previous owner went to the trouble of upgrading the neck pickup to an Antiquity, which works beautifully in tandem with the stock Gibson humbucker in the bridge. This beauty can handle just about anything, from rock & roll, to jazz & blues, without a ton of fussing over tone settings. And it comes professionally inspected and setup by our in-house luthier, too-so all you gotta do is tune it.

Cosmetic condition: Pretty great shape overall, with some standard playwear throughout. Various surface scratches, nicks, and dings visible under particular lighting, with some pickwear on the pickguard. There are a few areas of finish checking, most notably along the fingerboard edges (which can’t be felt and don’t hinder playability), and along the neck joint (purely cosmetic, see photos).

Body: Double bound maple body in blue burst finish with Tune-O-Matic bridge and trapeze tailpiece. 5-ply black pickguard and black pickup bezels.

Weight: 7 lb, 10.8 oz

Neck: Medium profile maple neck with white side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Nicely variegated rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape, and frets show almost no visible wear. Black headstock overlay with gold silkscreened Gibson logo and chrome-sealed Grover tuners in perfect working condition. Neck is straight and truss rod works as it should.

Electronics: Original Gibson USA humbucker in the bridge position (9.03K ohms), with replacement Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbucker in the neck position (7.57K ohms). 3-way toggle switch and black speed knobs, 2x volume, 2x tone.

Case: Original hard shell case included.
