Description
What makes this guitar special: This one is dubbed by Gibson as an R7, and it fits that mold in many ways-a super chunky one-piece mahogany neck, a non-weight relieved mahogany body, aluminum tailpiece, and tapered headstock. Beyond that, it’s more like a ’75 Deluxe-outfitted with a bound Red Sparkle top, and a set of mini-humbuckers, neither of which would be right for ’57, but are nonetheless factory appointments to this unique and rare bird. Made in very limited numbers in both Red and Blue sparkle, these pay tribute to two iconic eras of Les Pauls. Professionally setup by the experts at Cream City Music, this beauty will arrive ready to play out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Great overall shape with some light playwear throughout-various small scratches, dents, nicks, dings, and scuffs, with some pickwear on the guard and a single small chip on the top of the headstock.
Body: Solid mahogany body with bound maple cap in Red Sparkle finish. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. Cream colored pickup bezels and pickguard.
Weight: 8 lb, 15.4 oz
Neck: Chunky one-piece mahogany neck with red pearloid side dots and pearl trapezoid inlays. Bound rosewood fingerboard is in marvelous shape, and frets show almost no wear, with tons of life left in them. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo. Single ring Gibson Deluxe tuners work great. Neck is straight and truss rod works as it should.
Electronics: Dual mini-humbuckers (Neck-6.09k ohms, Bridge-6.17k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and gold tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume.
Case: Original hard shell case included, along with OK card and COA.
