Description
What makes this guitar special: A great playing all koa Martin, with an abundance of character and vintage aesthetic. This piece has a great sound with plenty of high end chime and midrange warmth, while the koa construction affords more low-end than is typically offered by a spruce top. This piece appears to be in nearly original condition, and is without any major structural issues. It comes professionally setup by our in-house luthier with fresh strings and low action so it is guaranteed to play great right out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Very good shape for its age with some expected surface and playwear scratches present throughout the instrument, along with a few dings, dents, and scuffs, most notable on the top of the back of the headstock. The seam along the back of the instrument appears to have a slight separation extending about two inches up from the back binding. There is a small surface crack on the bass side of the top that appears to have been touched up and then finished over. Because of this, it is tough to say for certain whether or not the rest of the instrument has been refinished. If it has been, it was almost certainly done professionally. The bridge has also been slightly repositioned in order to allow maximum playability.
Body: Double bound koa body with back stripe, tortoise pickguard, ebony bridge, and trapeze tailpiece.
Weight: 1 lb, 6.9 oz
Neck: Solid koa neck with cream colored side dots and cream colored dot inlays with ebony fingerboard. 1 1/8” nut width, 11 1/2" scale length. Frets show some wear but still have a great deal of life left in them. Back of headstock has a pressed CF Martin stamp and open gear tuners in perfect functioning condition. Neck is straight and plays great up and down the fretboard.
Case: Vintage hard shell case included, presumed to be original.
