Description
What makes this guitar special: A gorgeous piece of Gibson history made sometime around the mid to late '30s & sporting the old style Gibson headstock logo. A hand-carved solid spruce top delivers a warm, rich tone, while the highly figured arched maple back gives the guitar a visually stunning appearance. Professionally inspected and setup by the experts at Cream City Music, so it will arrive ready to play. All you have to do is tune it!
Cosmetic condition: Used, but not abused. Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The top of the body shows some cracks that were repaired, and do not affect the structural integrity of the guitar in any way. The tailpiece appears to be original, but holes were drilled for an alternate at some point. Holes were also drilled for replacement tuning heads.
Body: Double-bound, 16" archtop & archback. Hand-carved, solid spruce top in sunburst finish with dual F-holes. The original pickguard is not included. Trapeze tailpiece with compensated rosewood bridge. Intricately figured maple back with maple sides.
Weight: 5lb, 3.7oz
Neck: Semi-chunky maple neck with cream side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in good condition, with a lot of life left in them. Playability/Tone: Beautifully resonant sound with a classically rich and warm tone. The lows are clear, the mids are warm, and the highs are crisp and beautiful; providing ample projection across the spectrum. The semi-chunky neck shape is incredibly comfortable to play, and will have you playing for hours at a time.
