What makes this guitar special: A rare first year Japanese-made model 4, nicely upgraded with a set of EMG pickups. These pieces are highly sought after by players around the globe for their tremendous value, and are considered to be some of the finest made Japanese guitars of the era. This one is no exception, and sports a terrific fit and finish with a lightning fast slim maple neck and comfortable rosewood fingerboard. It’s been professionally setup by our expert in-house luthier with fresh strings and low action, so it’ll be ready to play the moment you get your hands on it.
Cosmetic condition: Great condition for its age, with various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs throughout, as well as some visible buckle rash, and two small filled holes on top of the body. Frets show some visible wear, but still have a good amount of life left in them. There is also visible oxidation on most of the hardware.
Body: Contoured, solid basswood body in black finish. Kahler tremolo bridge with micro-tuners.
Weight: 8 lb, 3.3 oz
Neck: Slim quartersawn one-piece maple neck with aged white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Locking nut measures 1 11/16”. 25 1/2" scale length. Black headstock overlay with white Charvel by Jackson logo and black Jackson tuners in perfect working order. Rosewood fingerboard is in good shape, and while frets show some wear, they still have a lot of life ahead of them. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.
Electronics: Active EMG humbucker in the bridge position with dual active EMG single coils in the middle and neck positions (original pickups are not included). Individual toggle switches and knurled black chrome knobs, 1x volume, 1x tone, 1x mid boost/cut.
Case: Original hard shell case included.
