Description
What makes this guitar special? This is a fantastic vintage National Triolian Tenor Resonator with some serious vintage vibe and even better tone. Despite its smaller body, this resonator has fantastic projection and a robust twang that sounds equally well across the spectrum. The finish has worn off in all the right places, adding to its overall visual presence and showing its true identity as a beloved and tenured instrument. In addition, for an instrument that is approaching 90 years old, it still has great playability and structural integrity, a true mark of good ol’ American ingenuity that stands the test of time, even as it approaches a centennial birthday.
Condition: This resonator is in good condition overall. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents, chips, scratches, and scuffs, but still has a ton of vintage vibe and considering its age, has held up marvelously. The frets do show mild wear but still have a decent amount of life left in them.
Body: Pear-shaped steel body in Walnut Sunburst. Covered biscuit bridge and T10 style tailpiece.
Neck: Round boat-style maple neck and bound stained maple fingerboard with dot fret markers. 1 1/8” bone nut. 2 x Patent pending Planet tuning machines with white buttons, 2 x similar style. 23” scale.
Weight: 5 lbs 8.6 oz
Playability/Sound: The thick neck profile helps make up for the thin nut width, but it plays wonderfully easy either way. It has excellent projection for a smaller-bodied instrument and has tone that is just as good.
Case: Includes hardshell case.
