Description
Description: 1952 Vintage Martin T-15 Tiple Acoustic Ukulele
Condition: Fair condition overall. The bridge had cracked and has been glued back together though the work is amateur. There is excess glue around the bridge and the crack isn’t filled in. The glue had also gotten onto the string holes but has since been removed (see photos). There is a crack on the lower treble side bout that will need to be repaired (see photos). There is one small hole on the upper bass side bout. This does not affect sound or playability (see photos). The neck has a very slight bow when tuned to pitch creating higher action past the 5th fret but it is still comfortable to play. There are no other structural issues with this instrument; no loose or missing bracing or neck issues. The tuners have some rust and corrosion but are still in good working condition. Fingerboard and frets have light play wear and tons of life left in them.
Body: Solid mahogany top, back and sides in natural finish. Rosewood bridge/tailpiece with nickel saddle, dual inlaid rings around the sound hole.
Neck: Soft “V” shaped mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, white dot inlays and a 1 7/16” Ebony nut. Slotted peg head features five-on-a-strip nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons, 17” scale length.
Playability/Sound: This is a beautiful sounding Tiple! Even with the crack and the bridge in its current condition, this instrument really sings! It resonates beautifully and has plenty of volume and a natural ringing sustain. The mahogany body provides a warm yet bright sound with even response from each string. The neck is very comfortable and suitable for any playing style!
Case: Does not include case.
