Description

What makes this guitar special: The price of the guitar is worth it for the gold-foil in the neck alone. Its response is surprisingly full, yet still has great mid-range character and crispness in the top end that few pickups can manage from the position its in, which is also what makes it work perfectly in this hollow body as well. The P-90 is a bit mellower, but still has great chime between the mids and highs, providing a nice complement to the neck. The neck has an old-school chunky feel that few modern guitars come with, and this gives it as much vintage charm as the Red sunburst-style finish and cream cupcake control knobs to match its tuning machines buttons. The body is nice and resonant and not to mention pretty clean for its age, plus, it comes with a hardshell case.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does show various nicks, dings, dents, scuffs, chips, and scratches, but is still in fantastic shape for 50 years old. The frets show mild wear but still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck shows a good amount of wear/sanding, but is still smooth and even and plays just fine.

Body: Single cutaway double bound hollow body in Red finish. Unoriginal raised pickguard. Cream cupcake control knobs. Adjustable rosewood bridge and trapeze tailpiece. Unbound F-Holes.

Neck: Chunky round hardwood neck and ebonized maple fingerboard with dot inlays. Open-gear tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width.

Electronics: DeArmond gold-foil pickup in the neck and unoriginal P-90 in the bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.

Neck: 10.73k Ohms

Bridge: 7.76k Ohms

Weight: 6 lbs 2.9 oz

Playability/Sound: The neck has a nice chunky feel that still plays rather easily top to bottom. The gold-foil in the neck sounds absolutely fantastic with a surprisingly full response, rich character, and crisp top end. The P-90 in the bridge is relatively smooth and mild with medium output and a crisp, clean response.

Case: Includes semi-hardshell case.
