Description

What makes this guitar special: In fantastic condition for its age, this LG-1 is a 50-year-old champ of killer looks and tone. Its tone is warm with a compressed low end, rich midrange body with a little upper midrange chime and sweetness, and great top end articulation. It has a slim nut width at 1 9/16” which will be perfect for players who have smaller hands or like to have an extended reach over the fingerboard for easy thumb/bass note wraparounds. Outside of some minor nicks and dings, light scratches and the normal finish cracks, it is in great shape for 50 years old and its finish is still as vibrant as its tone. It even includes its original chipboard case.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall, especially considering it’s nearly 50 years old. It does show various small dings, dents, light scratches and finish cracks, but is still in incredibly good condition for its age. The frets show light wear but are even and still play great top to bottom. There is a small top crack that extends from the end of the fingerboard on the treble side to the sound hole, but is stable, maintains its structural integrity, and doesn't affect playability. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should. Due to the design of the saddle, the action plays higher than normal, with 5/32” of height on the low E and 1/8” on the high E, about a 32nd more than Martin factory setups.

Body: Slope shoulder design with mahogany back and sides and a spruce top in Sunburst finish. Single-ply top and back binding. Single-ring rosette. Belly-up rosewood bridge with height-adjustable rosewood saddle.

Neck: Medium depth D shape mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Kluson Deluxe 3-per-side tuning machines with white buttons. 1 9/16” nut width. 24.75” scale length. .83” deep at the 1st fret and 1.17” deep at the 12th fret.

Weight: 4 lbs 1.9 oz

Playability/Sound: The slim nut width will be perfect for players who have smaller hands or like extended reach over the board, and the profile is as easy as a medium C. Its tone is nice and warm with great top end articulation, great midrange body and some sweetness and chime in the upper midrange.

Case: Includes original chipboard case.
