Description

What makes this guitar special: This is a fantastic lawsuit Ibanez that was modeled after an iconic American-made guitar, and considering all else, was pulled off remarkably well. Outside of the pickups, the details of the build were pretty accurate and tastefully done, including the triangle inlays, checked binding, pickguard shape, and even a modified tailpiece. The cuts of maple used for this guitar are absolutely gorgeous, especially the body wings which display hundreds of birdseye marks throughout the top and back. The neck wood is similarly great, as the treble half also shows some nice flaming. The pickups have a ton of character and more variance than most 2-pickup configurations. The neck has a big and warm response while the neck is bright and full of traditional single-coil jangle. Plus, it is very clean for a guitar that’s nearing 40 years old and still plays and sounds great to boot.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall, especially for a guitar that’s nearly 40 years old. It does possess various nicks, dents, dings, chips, gauges, and scratches, but is still in great shape for its age. There is some wear/finish chipping on the headstock.  The frets show only light to mild wear and still have a ton of life left in them. The truss rod is maxed out but the angle is still pretty good and it still plays just fine. Includes bridge cover. The case has a broken latch.

Body: Double cutaway solid birdseye maple body and bound maple top in Mapleglo finish. Single-ply white pickguard. Black plastic control knobs with silver inserts. Fixed bridge with individually adjustable saddles. Ibanez tailpiece.

Neck: Slim profile C/D hybrid shape maple neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid triangle inlays. Sealed chrome tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width. 25” scale.

Electronics: Single-coil pickups in the neck and bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.

Neck: 9.07k Ohms

Bridge: 9.20k Ohms

Weight: 9 lbs 8.4 oz

Playability/Sound: The slim neck profile plays beautifully from the nut to the cutaway. The pickups sound great and are full of vintage vibe. The neck is considerably more full and warm than the bridge and nears humbucker territory with its overall response. The neck is bright and full of classic jangle.

Case: Includes hardshell case.
