Description

Description: 1977 Vintage Guild JSB-2 JSB2 JSB 2 Electric Bass Guitar

Condition: Fair to good condition overall. Our luthier has turned this instrument into a player’s grade bass. A couple cracks in the back of the headstock have been repaired, the fingerboard has been re-glued to the neck and the neck has been heat-pressed. The truss rod nut is angled up due to the previous warping of the neck (see photos). The truss rod is however in good working condition. Due to the condition of the wood around the truss rod nut, the truss rod cover is being left off but is included in the case. Nut and two tuning machines have been replaced. The electronics have been re-wired though all parts are original. The neck pickup ring is cracked but has been re-glued. There was one added switch but it is not currently connected to anything. Cosmetically there are various scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips and weather checking throughout the bass.

Body: Solid contoured double-cutaway mahogany body in natural finish. Nickel tailpiece/bridge with four individual saddles and skirted control knobs with silver inserts.

Neck: Three-piece mahogany neck with maple stripe down the center. Rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 4/8” bone nut.

Pickups/Electronics: Guild humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge with dual volume and tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.

Playability/Sound: This is actually a great playing bass that produces a very big, full sound. Anything from a deep tone to something a little brighter that can cut through a mix is available. The humbuckers really provide a great range of versatile sound. The neck is extremely comfortable and suitable for any playing style.

Case: Includes un-original hardshell Hamer case.
