Description
What makes this guitar special? This guitar comes from a unique time in Fender’s history, and its build specs prove it. This Strat comes equipped with the Fender System 1 Bridge (and accompanying locking nut) which was only produced and added to standard builds for a few years in the mid-80s. It is currently set up without the locking nut for the sake of simplicity, but maintains excellent stability and playability nonetheless. This Japanese-made Strat is a great player head to toe, and will be a great addition to any roster.
Condition: This MIJ Stratocaster is in very good condition overall. It does have various nicks, dings, dents, and scratches from over 30 years of use, and one decent-sized chip near the jack, but still remains largely clean and looks great. The frets do show some light to medium light wear but still have a ton of life left in them. The truss rod functions as it should. This guitar is not set up with the locking nut, but does include it, as well as the fine tuners for the bridge.
Body: Contoured body in Sunburst finish. 3-ply white pickguard. White plastic knobs and switch tip. Fender System 1 adjustable bridge.
Neck: Medium round maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Fender Japan sealed chrome tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width.
Electronics: Standard single-coil pickups in the neck, middle, and bridge. 1 x volume, 2 x tone controls.
Weight: 8 lbs
Playability/Sound: This guitar has solid Strat tone in every position. The neck will be comfortable and familiar to Fender players.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
