Description
A 1983 Marshall JCM800 Model 1959 Mark II Super Lead tube head. This 4-input Marshall features the same circuit as the legendary "Plexi" Super Lead heads of the 1960s. Like the original Super Leads, the JCM800 1959s require you to turn the amp up to a truly alaming voume level before the amp hits its sweet spot. Consequently, this amp has been fitted with a professionally-installed post-phase inverter master volume. The "PPIMV" allows you to dial back the voume of the amp without the thin, buzzy sound that is normally associated with traditional master voume Marshalls.
From Hendrix to Van Halen and countless artists in between, the 100-watt Super Lead has been the amp that defined rock guitar for decades. This one is no exception. It has just been serviced, re-tubed and biased with a brand new set of Mesa Boogie EL34s. It is fully functional and sounds awesome.
