Description
What makes this guitar special: Well for starters it looks like something Michael Schenker would shred on! A classic creation from Gibson's Custom Shop Edition, this two tone Flying V is an absolute beast in the heavy riff department - killer tone coupled with a speedy neck make it a metal monster. It's got some battle scars from being on the road, but plays great & sounds like dynamite!
Cosmetic Condition: A super cool look with some road wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & finish blemishes. The white finish has faded & aged into more of a yellowish color & there are some "ghosting" marks from previous decals on the top & back of the body. The black side wing also shows some discoloration & the finish appears to have been touched up a bit where the checking exists.
Neck: Wide, flat profile mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. The guitar has been refretted & there is no fret wear. Gibson Custom Shop Edition logo on the back of the headstock. Grover Rotomatic tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Solid mahogany body with stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 14.5 oz.
Pickups: Gibson humbuckers with exposed coils & black bezels. Bridge - 15.25K ohms; Neck - 15.17K ohms. Hot, tasty pickups! Dual volume & master tone controls with black "top hat" knobs & 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '85; all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
