Description

What makes this guitar special: This is a great playing and even better sounding 12-string that still looks marvelous for being 30 years old. The spruce top has matured in both look and sound, and although it still produces a good amount of volume and clarity, it has a bit of inherent warmth from its natural aging. The cuts of rosewood used for the back and sides are gorgeous, full of color variance with long straight grains that stretch its length throughout. The tone is equally fantastic with a rich mid-range, chime-laden high end, and a pretty responsive low end for a 12-string. In addition, this guitar is still in great shape for its age and still plays very well.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents and scratches, but otherwise looks fantastic for a 30-year-old guitar. It does show some finish checking which is normal for guitars of this age.  There are two surface finish cracks that extend the length of the back, but are merely superficial & do not penetrate the wood.  They have been checked out and confirmed as such by our luthier. The case does have a couple of broken latches but still shuts and locks fine with the remaining ones. The frets show only light wear and still have a lot of life left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning just fine.

Body: Dreadnought body with a bound spruce top and rosewood back and sides in Natural finish. Three-ring rosette. Tortoise pickguard. Ebony bridge with uncompensated saddle and white bridge pins with abalone dots.

Neck: Soft V shape mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Chrome sealed tuning machines. 1 7/8” nut width; 25 1/2"
scale length.

Electronics: End-pin mounted jack w/ basic under-saddle transducer electronics system.

Weight: 5 lbs 5.5 oz

Playability/Sound: The soft V shape neck fits the wider neck width on this guitar beautifully and makes playing a breeze. The low end is still quite present even for a 12-string, the mid-range is full and rich, and the high end has a beautiful chime to it.

Case: Includes Martin hardshell case.
