Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a super cool mid 80s Squier that sounds and plays as great as its American Fender counterparts. The neck is stamped ’84 and the neck plate/serial dates ’86, so without any distinguishing body markings, we figured it was best to just call it an ’86, but take it as you like. Regardless of all that, it’s still got a ton of character, especially in tone. The pickups sound great across the board, and provide a slightly different tonal provide than most standard Fenders. The neck has a good amount of extra clarity you don’t often find in that position, the middle positions still have the great rounded mid-range pop that makes for great blues playing, but with a little extra warmth and sweetness in the 2nd and 4th and more crispness in the 3rd, while the bridge is lower output with more classic jangle than chime. The neck, at 1 5/8” is a bit skinner than most, but still plays beautifully from the nut into the cutaway. Plus, for 30 years old, this guitar is still in great shape.
Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does show various nicks, dings, dents, scuffs, scratches, and other forms of normal playwear, but is still in great shape for a 30-year-old guitar. The frets show only mild wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable.

Playability/Sound: The neck on this guitar plays very easily and should be a comfortable and familiar shape. The pickups are a great mixture of vintage vibe and a bit of modern applicability, all with a slighter different tonal profile than a modern American Standard. The neck response boasts a bit more articulation and clarity, the middle positions are a bit warmer and sweeter and the bridge has less output, giving it more classic jangle than mid-range chime.
