Description
What makes this guitar special: A beautiful example of Fender's early Vintage Reissue Series. This gorgeous '57 Strat was manufactured in 1988 & finished in a super cool Olympic White that has aged marvelously over the years. It is not a Custom Shop Relic - all the wear & tear you see was legitimately done by the previous owner, who absolutely loved playing it. The only modification is the selector switch, which was swapped to a 5-way, however, the original 3-way is included & can easily be put back to full original spec. A trio of single coils deliver that instantly recognizable iconic sound, producing clear, bell-like tones & marvelous sustain. Professionally inspected by the experts at Cream City Music & set up by our own master luthier, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish wear. The neck has darkened quite a bit over the year & has more of caramel color. The Olympic White finish as also aged wonderfully into more of a yellow color with nice variegation throughout. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Rounded profile maple neck with black dot inlays & 7.25" radius fingerboard. Frets show some wear, but still have plenty of life in them. Small headstock with "spaghetti" logo. Vintage-style tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition. Neck date reads Aug 26, 1988.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in Olympic White. Vintage-style tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles. Original trem arm & bridge cover are included. Single-ply white pickguard is in great shape with no cracks & has aged nicely into more of a cream color as has the trem cover. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 11.8 oz.
Pickups: Original single coils with staggered poles. Bridge - 7.57K ohms; Middle - 6.43K ohms; Neck - 6.29K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with skirted knobs. The guitar is currently fitted with a 5-way selector switch, but the original 3-way is included. Pots date to '87 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
