What makes this guitar special: This is part of a unique run of Precision basses that was only made for about 4 years from the very late 80s into the early 90s. Designed by George Blanda, this bass features a 22 fret neck, plus an oversized body with deeper cuts and longer horns to keep both balance and playability similar to the traditional P-Bass. It comes loaded with an active EMG PJ configuration that provides a few solid tones between the two, but also some pretty considerable power and decent range with a little control tweaking. The hefty bridge includes individual fine tuning machines for each string. Outside of its shape, the body also comes in a relatively rare Black Pearl Burst finish, of which was used only on a few other models including the Strat Plus around the same time period. In addition, for being over 25 years old, this bass is still in pretty great shape and should have no issue finding a good home.
Condition: This bass is in very good condition overall, especially considering its age. It does show various small dings, dents, nicks, chips, and scratches, but is still in pretty fantastic shape for over 25 years old. The frets show only light to mild wear, but still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning. The truss rod access point on the headstock has gotten chewed up a bit over the years. The body has been routed to accommodate a 9V battery. The case is only in ok shape. The top has warped a bit in terms of shape, but still closes and latches just fine. There is a chunk of one plastic corner missing and the strap that holds the top open is no longer connected and doesn’t hold the case open on its own. There is also an area of interior foam routed out for what looks like a single pedal of some kind.
Body: Double cutaway contoured alder body in Black Pearl Burst finish. 3-ply white pickguard. Chrome knurled dome control knobs. Deluxe Plus fixed bridge with fine tuners. The body has been routed to accommodate a 9V battery.
Neck: Slim to medium depth C shape maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Chrome open-gear tuning machines with clover keys. 1 9/16” nut width. 34” scale.
Electronics: Unoriginal P and J Bass EMG active pickups. 1 x master volume, 1 x mid-boost. Original push-push button has been taken out of the circuit. 3-way pickup selector.

Playability/Sound: The neck plays easily from the nut to the cutaway and should be familiar and comfortable to a wide variety of players. The EMG pickups have a ton of punch and with the active electronics, range into pretty great low end response while still maintaining solid clarity.
