Description
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall - very clean with only a few minor nicks & dings along with mild surface scratches. The Surfcaster was manufactured in Japan at the Chushin Gakki factory & is considered a boutique style guitar that employs many retro styles from leading manufacturers of the fifties and sixties. The guitar has been professionally set up by us with a fresh set of strings & plays like it's brand new!
Neck: Thin profile maple neck with ivoroid binding & black side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl triangle inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Bound headstock with flame maple overlay. The original tuners have been replaced with Sperzel locking tuners, which are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" metal roller nut; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Semi-hollow mahogany body with flame maple top & ivoroid binding. The bound "slash" F-hole & fireglo finish are very synonymous with Rickenbacker guitars. Tremolo tailpiece with adjustable saddles. 3-ply pearloid pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 12 oz.
Pickups: Chandler "lipstick" single coils. Bridge - 4.44K ohms; Neck - 4.57K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs; 3-way toggle switch. The volume knob can be pushed in & out to act as an out of phase configuration. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
