Description

What makes this guitar special: A beautiful collector’s piece, in all-original, virtually unplayed condition. G&L built these in a limited run in 1991 in memory of founder Leo Fender. Due to a dispute with FMIC over the usage of Fender’s name, the planned run of 1000 was reduced to 350. However, the neck plates still reflect the original planned run of 1000 in numeration. This piece is #123 of 350, and is a must have for any Fender collector. These guitars are highly sought after and rare to find, especially in this condition. Beautifully adorned with a swamp ash body and gold hardware throughout, it is a wonderful testament to one of the most inspired minds in the history of guitar-making. This piece comes professionally setup by our in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play.

Cosmetic condition: Excellent condition. There are a few minor surface scratches visible under particular lighting, as well as some very minor pickwear on the pickguard, and one small dot on the back of the headstock.

Body: Double-bound solid swamp ash body in eye-popping cherry sunburst finish with Leo Fender signature, rose, and 1909-1991 etched into the upper bout. Gold pickguard and hardware, with string-through gold bridge and six individually adjustable saddles.

Weight: 8lb, 12.8oz

Neck: Gorgeous C-shaped flamed maple neck with double bound flamed maple fingerboard, black side dots, and black dot inlays. Fingerboard is in terrific shape with no wear, and frets are in near-perfect condition. 1 5/8” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Gold sealed Sperzel tuners function perfectly. Neck is straight and bullet truss rod works as it should.

Electronics: Original single-coil pickups with 3-way pickup selector switch and knurled gold knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume.

Case: Original hard shell case included, along with signed Certificate of Authenticity and original bridge cover.
