Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a great Thunderbird bass through and through. The pickups have a ton of character and wholly embody the cult following these basses have garnered over the years. They output great low to mid-range chunk that can go from classic thump to punch with a quick turn of the tone control or dialing in one’s volume over the other. The neck plays great and sports a classic rounded shape that will suit players who like a fuller feel than many modern slim profiles. There are various love marks throughout showing that this bass was played often, yet it is still in good enough shape to surmise that any previous owners still wanted to take care of it. For being nearly 25 years old and suspended between the lines of used or vintage, it’s a solid players’ bass that is equally great in tone as it is playability.
Condition: This Thunderbird is in good to very good condition overall. It does show various nicks, dings, dents, chips, scuffs, scratches, and other forms of mild playwear, but is still fully functional and still looks decent for its age. There is a spot in the back where looks like the strap button was moved and covered up and there is a spot of finish inconsistency on the back of the bass bout. The bridge has a bit of extra curve but still functions just fine. The frets show mild wear but still have a good amount of playing time left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.
