Description
What makes this guitar special: Exceptionally rare & 100% original! This gorgeous acoustic-electric was made in Japan & boasts some rather unique appointments, like the Bigsby tailpiece & triangle soundhole with Ovation-style ornamentation. Stunning flame maple back & sides on a thin-body give the guitar tons of punch & sparkle. The slender neck is very comfortable anywhere on the fretboard. Professionally set up by us with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds great! This guitar is pre-Fender so there is no documentation included.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition for its age. Some light pick wear with minor nicks & dings. There's a small chip in the finish in the top, lower bout. There's also a small area on the back of the body that shows some light "milkiness" in the finish. It's not too bad though & hardly noticeable. Overall the guitar is in great shape with no playability issues.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays & floral design in the 12th fret. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear & plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with flame maple overlay & mother of pearl Gretsch logo. Gold tuners with "G" Arrow logo. Tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Single-cutaway, thinline acoustic with multi-bound top & back. Solid spruce top with abalone purfling. Bigsby tremolo tailpiece & fixed roller bridge on a rosewood base with gold hardware. No pickguard. Triangle soundhole with Ovation-style ornamentation. Flame maple back & sides with some absolutely gorgeous figuring in the wood. The back of the body is arched. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 13.5 oz.
