Description
Condition: This is a great sounding guitar with a stunning natural finish! There is a very slight hazing throughout the guitar likely as a result of moisture or a chemical reaction between the lacquer and the case. It requires inspection under proper lighting to be visible. It is heaviest on the back but visible throughout the top also. There are some light pick scratches on the pickguard and the top of the guitar. There are a few tiny dings and what appear to be tiny finish flaws throughout the instrument. There are a few surface scratches throughout the control panel and guitars finish. There are a few extra screw holes on the bottom of the neck. This is very common with G&L guitars however. There is a small rout from the neck pocket to the neck pickup cavity on the body but this was likely done in the factory. Overall this guitar is very clean for its age! Fingerboard and frets have light play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck has a very small amount of relief around the 12th fret but is very straight overall and comfortable to play. The truss rod and neck tilt adjustment function fine. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid ash body in natural finish. The wood grain looks excellent and really gives this guitar a nice look. Boxed-steel bridge with six individual saddles, knurled control knobs and a single-ply white metal pickguard. Leo Fender’s signature adorns the upper bass side bout making this a desirable early model ASAt Classic!
Neck: Slender maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 5/8” nut. G&L tuners, 25.5: scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: G&L MFD single-coil pickups in the neck and bridge with master volume and tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.
Neck: 3.95K Ohms.
Bridge: 5.01K Ohms.
Weight: 8lbs, 15.0oz.
Playability/Sound: This is a great sounding ASAT Classic. The natural finish gives it a classy look and the Leo Fender signature makes it stand out from other guitars. The slender neck is extremely comfortable and ideal for players who prefer a slimmer profile neck.
Case: Includes original hardshell case. Some original papers are included in the case, though some may be missing. Please note, when we acquired this guitar the case had a rather musty odor. We have cleaned some of it out but it is still noticeable.
