Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a gorgeous sounding HD-28 2R with dual herringbone rosettes around an oversized sound hole. This unique appointment gives it a classy look and the 2R designation. Other features include a Spruce top with Rosewood back and sides herringbone trim around the top binding and a herringbone back center stripe. This guitar in particular has great bass response and a full, warm and rich tone. The guitar has had some time to age allowing the wood to mature nicely.
Condition: Good overall shape! There are plenty of scratches, small nicks, dings and dents throughout the finish with some buckle rash on the back and some light weather checking in areas. The finish on the treble side of the sound hole has worn away from normal play wear throughout the years but this is merely cosmetic. There are no cracks or structural repairs. Fingerboard and frets have only light play wear with some heavier wear within the first few registers. The neck is super comfortable with great action and the truss rod functions fine. Bridge pins have been replaced, otherwise all parts are original and in perfect working condition.
Body: Double-bound dreadnought body with a solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides in natural finish. Ebony bridge with an ivoroid saddle, black pickguard and a dual herringbone ring rosette around an over-sized sound hole.
Neck: Super comfortable and very nicely rounded mahogany neck with a bound Ebony fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Sealed Martin tuners, volute on the back of the headstock and a 25.4” scale length.
Weight: 4lbs, 8.6oz.
Case: Includes the original hardshell case.
