Description
What makes this guitar special: Perhaps a little less than desirable in the looks department, but what a sound! Big & boomy with incredibly loud sound projection. A real winner with great tone & action. Fitted with a very expensive after-market Trance Audio dual sourced preamp with Sunrise pickup. Professionally set up by our own luthier, so it plays & sounds fantastic! This model uses heavy gauge strings and is tuned to C#, which yields Kottke's rumbling, throaty piano guitar sound.
Cosmetic Condition: A bit rough, with lots of wear & tear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & finish wear. There's a pretty good sized crack in the bottom of the body near the end pin. In short, this guitar was really played & has the road wear to prove it.
Neck: Mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard & micro side-dots. Gold Grover mini tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 7/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Cutaway, jumbo size body with multi-bound, solid spruce top. Ebony bridge & end pins; multi-ring rosette. Solid mahogany back & sides. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 9 oz.
Electronics: The original L.R. Baggs Duet II was removed & replaced with a very high end Trance Audio dual sourced preamp, complete with Amulet true stereo pickup system with special cable & a soundhole mounted Sunrise acoustic pickup.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
