Description
What makes this guitar special: This gorgeous guitar was recently acquired from a collection of nine Les Pauls, many of them hand selected by Yamano specifically for the Japanese market. This particular model has all the hallmarks both players & collectors are looking for in an R8, along with an absolutely stunning, quilt top in an amber finish. A perfect '58 profile neck combined with a pair of Gibson double-cream humbuckers makes this beauty an awesome sounding guitar! The guitar was purposely "aged" after-market to give it that road-worn vintage look. Professionally set up by Cream City Music with fresh strings & low action, so it plays perfectly.
Cosmetic Condition: Intentionally given an after-market relic job to make it look more like a well-played vintage guitar - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & finish wear. Not sure who did the aging, but it was really well done & looks professional.
Neck: Very comfortable one-piece mahogany neck with cream binding & black side-dots. The neck profile actually feels more like a '59 than the super beefy '58. Beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Refretted with jumbo frets, which are in great shape with hardly any wear. Gibson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: One-piece mahogany body with killer quilt top & aged cream binding. Stopbar tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply cream pickguard & jackplate both in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 8.4 oz. Great weight!
Pickups: Gibson double-cream, exposed coil humbuckers with cream bezels. Bridge - 8.02K ohms; Neck - 7.62K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs & 3-way toggle switch. The control cavity is shielded with foil & the caps are bumble bees. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Gibson USA hardshell case included along with original Gibson paperwork.
